Pray for Hailey

Please pray for our friends' precious baby girl, Hailey Ann Trainer. She is almost nine months old and was diagnosed with brain cancer last week. She has already had surgery to remove one of the tumors and is awaiting tests results on how to treat the other. You can watch her progress and encourage her family at this website:

May God bless this precious child.

Our Beautiful Son

Benjamin is now three weeks old. We haven't gotten much sleep, but we've had so much fun with our little munchkin. Many times we'll just sit and stare at him. He makes the funniest faces and sounds. He is getting more alert now and looking around to check everything out. He loves baths, his bouncy seat, car rides and lying on daddy's chest. He's not such a big fan of shopping and diaper changes. Here are some pics from the last few days...

These are from Benjamin's first Sunday at church. He did pretty good. He grunted and had the hiccups in worship, so we stood in the back for much of it. He wore his handsome white outfit that Grandma got him.

Benjamin's favorite place to sleep, on Daddy's chest.

Going for a walk in the neighbor- hood. Benjamin looks pretty upset, but he's just yawning.

Benjamin fell asleep watching a little TV in the recliner.

Happy Birthday Uncle Brian!!!

I wish we all could be there and throw you a big party! (that will come later, don't worry.) I don't think you've ever been able to have a party on your birthday, our schedule has always made it difficult. To get all sentimental for a moment, I simply can't believe that you're 18 today! Spending so much time with Benjamin, I can't help but remember when you were his size, yes I actually can remember. I remember sitting in the driveway praying for a sibling before you came, and I was the proudest big sister ever when you arrived. We definitely had some spouts throughout childhood and drove Mama insane at times (especially when we'd cut up in church...you remember), but I'm so thankful for you and the close relationship we now share. You are a blessing in my life and I wish only the best for you, praying for you all the time. Love you brother and Happy Birthday!

A week with Benjamin

We've been home a week now. It's gone by so fast and he's already growing so much. It has been the most surreal experience of my life. There are too many emotions for words, but most of all, joy.

We haven't slept much in the past week. I thought I was super mom at first, because I could survive on about 3 hours of sleep a day. However, that quickly wore off. Now I know why all veteran moms say "Sleep when your baby sleeps." We have had a little trouble nursing which adds to the exhaustion, but getting better everyday.

Benjamin has been great! He's eating and pooping well. I never knew that I would be thankful for poop! We have been so blessed with such a healthy child. Many answered prayers!

It's been so exciting to see all of his "firsts." We had our first walk around the neighborhood, first football game with daddy, first doctor checkup, first bath (the second one was much better), first smile, first bedtime story, and lots more.

Last but not least, thank yous are in order. Thanks to all of you who have blessed us in one way or another. Thank you for the calls, the cards and visits. Thank you for the food- we have some great cooks at East Cobb! Thanks to the family for racing to Marietta to see our boy, and helping us around the house, taking care of Jackson, cooking, cleaning and laundry. Thank you to Daddy (Rick)! He's been such a hero, figuring out more about childbirth and breastfeeding than any guy would ever care to know. He has been so wonderful taking care of me and Benjamin. I thank God for such an amazing husband and friend.

We are blessed! We'll add more pictures soon. Love you all!

Showered at East Cobb!

Our sweet church family went all out for us at the shower! There were tons of yummy desserts and everything looked so precious! Thanks to Ray & Rhonda for organizing, David & Elaine for cleaning for hours and Julia for snapping these pics for us. It was a beautiful day!

We received so many wonderful gifts for our boy. Thank you all so much- you are certainly a blessing!

Rick had lots of fun playing with the toys!

Something was funny!

Our son Benjamin already has a sense of humor...

Benjamin faked his arrival this week. I went into labor (to 3cm) and stopped just before we would go to deliver. We had everyone excited, expecting him any minute. The grandmothers were packing bags and had one foot in the car. Now we're just waiting again until he decides he's really ready, but he did give us a little extra time to pack a hospital bag and finish up in the nursery. Here are some pics of his room. Hopefully, he'll get to see it soon!
