A week with Benjamin

We've been home a week now. It's gone by so fast and he's already growing so much. It has been the most surreal experience of my life. There are too many emotions for words, but most of all, joy.

We haven't slept much in the past week. I thought I was super mom at first, because I could survive on about 3 hours of sleep a day. However, that quickly wore off. Now I know why all veteran moms say "Sleep when your baby sleeps." We have had a little trouble nursing which adds to the exhaustion, but getting better everyday.

Benjamin has been great! He's eating and pooping well. I never knew that I would be thankful for poop! We have been so blessed with such a healthy child. Many answered prayers!

It's been so exciting to see all of his "firsts." We had our first walk around the neighborhood, first football game with daddy, first doctor checkup, first bath (the second one was much better), first smile, first bedtime story, and lots more.

Last but not least, thank yous are in order. Thanks to all of you who have blessed us in one way or another. Thank you for the calls, the cards and visits. Thank you for the food- we have some great cooks at East Cobb! Thanks to the family for racing to Marietta to see our boy, and helping us around the house, taking care of Jackson, cooking, cleaning and laundry. Thank you to Daddy (Rick)! He's been such a hero, figuring out more about childbirth and breastfeeding than any guy would ever care to know. He has been so wonderful taking care of me and Benjamin. I thank God for such an amazing husband and friend.

We are blessed! We'll add more pictures soon. Love you all!
